Movie Plot Analysis:

The historical drama, Maharaj, is based on one of the greatest legal battles in Indian history: the 1862 Maharaj Libel Case.

Junaid Khan is a determined social reformer who has been questioning societal customs and rituals since childhood. Karsandas is stunned to discover that JJ has victimized many girls from his society including his wife-to-be. To unmask him and bring him to justice, Karsandas embarks on a challenging journey that calls for immense sacrifices.

Junaid Khan's Debut Film Maharaj Available On Netflix:

The cinema was accused of disrespecting traditional religion. However, the claims were dismissed, and the Gujarat High Court greenlit the film's OTT release on Netflix on June 21, 2024. Viewers can now stream Maharaj on Netflix.

Review:

All in all, Maharaj is a gutsy and forceful film, which touches on crucial matters of the 1860s that will grow on you in terms of acting; what it leaves with you is its final showdown. No matter how shaky the story was, it still managed to communicate its message clearly enough to be pertinent even now.
