Bollywood Actor Ajay Devgan's latest release is " Maidaan " where he plays an inspirational soccer coach. The movie is directed by Amit Ravinder Nath Sharma of the National award-winning film ‘Badhaai Ho’, Maidaan is Produced by Boney Kapoor, Akash Chawla and Arunava Joy Sengupta.

"Maidaan" based on a true story

Maidaan is based on the golden years of the Indian Football team. When India had also reached the semifinals in the 1956 Olympics and won the gold medal in the Jakarta Asian Games. On the true story of Syed Abdul Rahim, the architect of this golden period. Who managed the Indian football team for 13 years and laid the foundation of modern Indian football. Ajay Devgn is playing the role of this football doyen in the movie. The supporting cast includes  Priyamani, Gajraj Rao and Rudranil Ghosh. 

Release Date

Theatrically the film was released worldwide on 11 April 2024, coinciding with Eid.

Remarkably, Amazon Prime Video has secured the OTT streaming rights for the film. While the precise OTT release date has not been officially announced yet, fans can expect it to be available on Amazon Prime Video shortly after its theatrical run.

 Ajay Devgn's "Maidaan" struggled at the box office, earning less than a crore for two consecutive days. Despite releasing on Eid, the film's first week total was only Rs 28.35. Maidaan, was made on a budget of over Rs 150 crore, but garnered barely Rs 30 crore. The first quarter of the 2024 calendar is done.

On April 2, 2024, the movie's trailer was unveiled, promising action and adventure mixed with a dash of patriotism. More than 80,000 people loved it, and it garnered over 36 million views. Its trailer lasts for two minutes and six seconds.
